Day 2 Beijing Great Wall of China

Pictures from the bus window.

The entrance, you can go left or right once though the entrance. Our guide cautioned us to go to the right because the steps were so steep and uneven on the left.

Once through the entrance there is this space and then you choose your path.

Beginning the trek up the wall.

The windows through one of the watch towers.

It's a bit more challenging than you think. I actually had a harder time on the shallow steps, I kept tripping. It went from steps and inch high to steps up to your knees or thigh.

It was really just surreal standing on the Great Wall of China, I kinda couldn't believe I was standing on something built 2000 years ago. Amazing!

One of the buildings that marks the end of one direction. You can see where it starts up again, but they sealed it off, for good reason.

Standing at the top taking a picture of the opposite direction. We didn't cover hardly any of this and obviously being 4000 miles long, didn't even see a tenth of it. Amazing how huge this wall is.

The forbidden path to the left. We actually climbed to the top of one of the watch towers which was crazy almost vertical. Travis's brother decided to quickly check out the left side after he went to the top of the right and said it was even worse than going to the top of the watch tower. Good thing I didn't attempt it, I'm such a klutz. The first full day in Beijing was intense and full and unbelievable. We are so blessed to be able to do this trip.

And that wall is pretty cool, too.
So jealous.
