Day 2 Beijing 13 Ming Emperors Tombs

The signs almost say it all.
This picture goes with the picture further down.
This is the first know sculpture of a dragon, made out of jade.

Silk burner, description up above.I can't remember the exact number but it was 7 or 8 years of national budget to make this tomb.

This tree is so old they are using other trees to support it.

These are the pillars that are made from whole trees and stated in the first plague. They are extinct now. The only place they grew were on the mountains, hundreds died getting these for the emperor.

We didn't actually get to go into the tomb it's self since it is not excavated. It's under a huge mound of earth behind this building. They will not excavate until they are sure technology is far enough along to not damage it.
