A Day at the Beach

We had a fun day yesterday spending almost the whole day with friends at the beach. Hayden was having so much fun flying his kite. He was doing so good holding on to it that I let him hold it all by himself. Eventually he didn't pay attention and dropped the kite. The wind was so good that day that I had the kite fully extended so the wind took it right out to the ocean. You should have seen Hayden's little face. He didn't know what to think. I was trying hard not to laugh because he was surely upset at the event. He said "Mommy I don't want my kite to go in the water." Me still trying not to show how amused I was by the whole situation knelt down gave him a hug and told him it would be alright that we could get another kite at the store. He seemed ok with this. So I went to go check on Coy and the next thing I know Hayden was heading for the exit. I ran to him and asked "Hayden where are you going?" He replied, "to the store to get a kite Mommy." This time I couldn't hold it in and laughed he looked at me and smiled. Then I explained to him that we would get one another day. He did quite well with the whole thing. I'm very proud of my him he could have been histerical about it, but he was very calm, or should I say in shock, and handled himself very well.

Fathers Day Bliss

Fathers Day is getting to be so much fun now that the boys are getting older. In church they made Daddy these cute ties. I learned how to make Grandmas Laubersheimers famous Fathers Day meal (and it actually came out). Travis was happy to have little piece of home with him this year. Especially since the Poor Boy sandwiches are one of the only things he complains about not having since we moved. We also got Daddy some much needed new pants and some pictures framed for his desk at work. I am so grateful to have such a great father for my boys. They love him so much and talk about Daddy a lot during the day when he is working. Travis playes with the boys all the time, as shown in some of these pictures.

Coy's Big Boy Bed

Well we finally took the plunge and took Coy out of the crib. I am very impressed with how quickly he adjusted to his big boy bed. He cried for about twenty minutes the first night, after that it was just five or ten. Finally tonight he just went to bed and didn't even attempt to get out. Such a good little man and getting so big. We can't believe he will be two in two months.

New Buzz Cuts

We give the boys new summer cuts every spring. We were amazed at how much they looked alike with their new hair, now that you can't really tell how difference in the color of their hair.

For the Love of Pudding

Both Hayden and Coy LOVE chocolate pudding. Hayden is our neat a clean child so he only needs a little napkin the get the edges when he eats pudding or for that matter anything. Coy on the other hand could use a bath everytime he eats. When he eats anything like pudding it's this messy. Coy loves his food, he just digs in. Our nursery leader told me he was eating green peppers like they were crackers. He loves cheese, pickles, pretty much anything he is such a good eater.

Dragon Tatoo

Grandma Ree Ree thought it would be fun the buy Hayden some temporary tattoos. We didn't know if he would like them or not, but it turns out he loved them. He wanted to show everyone his dragon. Then take a bath so he could put on the next one (it came with 4 dragons total). He had never been so excited the take a bath.

Monkeys

Our little monkeys are always trying to find new ways to flip and jump high. Here they hang upside down on the couch and slide their bodies down until their heads rest on the floor, then they flip their bodies over onto the floor. They squeal in excitement and climb up to do it all over again. They are always encouraging each other with new ideas. Most times it's great fun to sit back and watch what they come up with.
